The equipment is part of a series of devices capable of performing experiments on different types of heat exchangers. In the coil heating mode, hot water flows through the coil to heat the cold water in the water tank. The blender can be used in all modes. The jacketed heat exchanger consists of a tank surrounded by jackets. The water tank is equipped with coils. In the heating mode with jacket, hot water flows through the jacket and transfers part of the heat energy to the cold water in the water tank.
